The aim of the study was to identify pathomorphology brain damage in patients who died COVID-19. Material and methods . Autopsy reports autopsy material 17 deceased with pre-mortem confirmed COVID-19 infection were analyzed. Fatal cases which COVID19 major cause death included study. Five people diagnosed cerebral infarction. Organ samples taken for histological examination during autopsy. Sections stained hematoxylin eosin by Nissl assess histopathology. To vascular basal membranes PAS reaction used, detect fibrin vessels phosphotungstic acid-hematoxylin (PTAH) staining determine DNA nuclei sections according Feulgen, RNA neuronal cytoplasm methyl green-pyronin. Immunohistochemical a marker, nuclear protein NeuN, performed damage. Results signs found nonspecific changes nerve cells (acute swelling, retrograde degeneration, karyolysis cytolysis, ‘ghost' cells, neuronophagia satellitosis) circulatory disorders (perivascular pericellular edema, diapedesis, congested engorged microvasculature). Conclusion Brain histopathological data indicate central nervous system patients. Ischemic stroke is mostly caused combination hypoxia resulting from respiratory failure individual risk factors, including cerebrovascular atherosclerosis hypertension.
